Introduction

Our world is complex and full of wicked problems. Through our education we can prepare students to be able to contribute to solving these challenges. We need education that is more impact-driven, increasing the change capacity of our students. But how can you design your course to be more impact driven? What does this mean for our education, for our students and for your role as a teacher?

In this MicroLab, co-created with Impact at the Core, you will familiarize yourself with the principles of impact-driven education and move through a creative process to explore what impact driven education means for you.

Target group and required prior knowledge

This MicroLab is intended for EUR teachers and course coordinators who are curious what impact driven education means for them. You do not necessarily have to redesign your course while participating in the MicroLab, you can see the MicroLab as a good, first step.

Set up of this MicroLab

This MicroLab has a blended format and consists of online preparation and a workshop session.

  • In the preparation in the online Canvas environment (2 hours) you will familiarize yourself with the principles of impact driven education.
  • During the online workshop (3,5 hours) you will move through a creative process together with fellow teachers to explore what impact driven education means for you. In the session you will also experience activities supporting a creative process.

Earn an Edubadge

You finish the MicroLab with a Proof of Competence. You will then receive an Edubadge. This is a digital, visual certificate which you can share on e.g. LinkedIn. Interested parties can immediately click on the certificate to find out what you have done to achieve the EduBadge.
