#Bealifesaver - "Turn the Day-to-Day into Save the Day"

The Royal Life Saving Society UK’s (RLSS UK) #Bealifesaver campaign aims to target and attract a more diverse audience to lifeguarding and help Leisure Centres and RLSS UK Pool Lifeguard Trainer Assessors across the country to promote and sell their National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) courses.

The #Bealifesaver campaign targets the type of person who would benefit from the role but may not have even considered it as an option: people needing flexibility due to studying, dependants or a tenet of their faith, people coming back to the work-place after a break or semi-retired, for example.

To help Leisure Centres and RLSS UK Pool Lifeguard Trainer Assessors advertise their NPLQ courses, a full suite of marketing resources, including leaflets, posters and banners have been developed and made available for download or order via RLSS UK Account.

The marketing resources have all been designed to target and attract more diverse markets, with compelling motivators for becoming a lifeguard included for each target market.

Jo Talbot, Commercial Director, RLSS UK said: “We want to encourage people to learn and develop new life-saving skills, realise the benefits of lifeguarding and get involved by enrolling on an NPLQ course.

“Becoming a pool lifeguard not only develops skills that could save someone’s life, but also gives opportunities to work abroad, start a career in the leisure industry, work flexible hours to fit around life as a parent, keep active during retirement or a great way for students to fund their studies.

“We see lifeguards as representatives of our wider society and the lifeguard workplace as welcoming, inclusive and free from discrimination. We aim to attract a more diverse audience from different backgrounds to join our lifeguard community.

“Anyone wanting to enrol on an NPLQ course can ask their local leisure centre for upcoming NPLQ course dates or visit rlss.org.uk/nplq.

RLSS UK’s NPLQ is the most awarded lifeguard qualification in the UK and Ireland with more than 95 per cent of all pool lifeguards qualified through RLSS UK. The NPLQ is also internationally recognised with over 80,000 RLSS UK pool lifeguards worldwide.
