Business events in December are slim pickings as everyone counts down to Christmas. But with Brexit occurring at the end of the month there are still some essential webinars you should be joining.

Boost My Business has picked out some of the best business events on this month to be sure you are prepared for the year ahead. 

The Web Summit (Virtual) got underway today (Wednesday 2nd)  and runs until Friday evening, you still have the chance to grab tickets for the global tech event here. The range of speakers at this event is extensive with something for everyone, no matter what size or sector you are.

The Local Enterprise Offices are launching their annual Student Enterprise Programme for second level schools at an online event at 7pm on Monday 7th December. The programme involves over 20,000 secondary school students every year, as they research & run their own businesses as part of an 8-month programme. The new Student Enterprise ambassador will also be unveiled on the night. Get all the details here 

The PM Summit has also gone virtual this year and will be steamed as live on 10th December. This event for project managers has attendees and speakers for all manor of industries from engineering to pharmaceutical, from government bodies to the creative sector and beyond. This month Dogpatch Lab's First Friday For Start-Ups event is held on Friday 11th December. Entirely free this is a superb event for you if you’d like to be immersed in Ireland’s entrepreneurial & tech landscape through a host of talks and mentoring. Check out the details here.

Enterprise Ireland and Local Enterprise Offices are hosting the Brexit Customs Briefing Webinar Series: Critical steps to get ready for new customs rules in 5 regions around the country kicking off with Dublin & Mid-East Region on the 7th Dec,  Mid-West Region on the 8th, North-East & North West Region on the 9th,  South & South-East Regio on the 10th and Midlands & West Region on the 11th of December . The webinars are to assist Irish companies with their final Brexit preparations and are open to any Irish business involved in importing and exporting goods to, from or through the UK. EI also have a Dutch/Irish trade post-Brexit webinar on 8th December.  The webinar that seeks to prepare Dutch and Irish companies for the post-Brexit reality and to highlight new market opportunities for companies from both countries within the wider Eurozone. Find out more here.

Speaking of the Eurozone applications are still open for the Enter the Eurozone 2021 Programme. The programme seeks to open Europe’s doors for companies currently exporting with no significant presence in a Eurozone market. Applications close on the 19th Jan 2021, find out more here.

The Small Firms Association have two webinars this month, open to members only.

Thinking Ahead: Performance Management and Pay Remuneration on December 3 will focus on how small business owners and HR Executives can ensure performance appraisals are valuable and constructive for both the employer and employee, learn how to manage poor and high performers and about the advantages and disadvantages of performance related pay.
