Delays to the schedule of the containership ONE Contribution due to Covid cases among the crew are now set to stretch across the entire month of September.

Ocean Network Express (ONE) reported on 1 September that a few Covid cases had been found among the crew of the ONE Contribution prior to berthing in Singapore, and the events that have followed illustrate how quickly Covid can impact individual vessel schedules.

The 8,560 teu vessel deployed on ONE’s Pacific South Loop 3 – PS3 service was delayed from berthing in Singapore while undergoing a 14-day quarantine and eventually berthed in the city state’s port on Tuesday 14 September.

Following its call in Singapore to remain regulatory compliance the ONE Contribution will now undertake a crew change in Manila, Philippines, prior to resuming normal service calling in Cai Mep, Vietnam.

“Crew change in Manila has been planned prior to her arrival in Cai Mep, in accordance with safe manning requirements and the respective regulatory requirements,” ONE said in a customer advisory.

The ONE Contribution is now scheduled to berth in Cai Mep on 30 September.

“Kindly note utmost efforts are in place to safeguard the health and well-being of all seafarers onboard during the pandemic,” ONE added.
