How can new trends in tourism and innovation support the economic recovery of the Eastern Caribbean? Help us reimagine the future of tourism in the Eastern Caribbean and Small Islands Developing States. Share your experiences, research, innovations and policy recommendation to be a part of driving this transformation and recovery of the sector Add your voice to the Discussion below
The global pandemic is having a devastating impact on Small Island Developing States, with up to 90% of GDP derived directly or indirectly from tourism in some countries. To help governments and the economy to recover from the pandemic, the United Nations Development Programme is hosting a regional dialogue with the 10 countries of the Eastern Caribbean to explore the emerging trends and opportunities to build forward better, with the ultimate goal to build resilience to shocks, harness digital innovation, and enhance sustainable practices. The dialogue is bringing together governments, regional organisations, major tour operators and small businesses, development sector and other relevant stakeholders.
We invite you to take part in rebuilding the future of tourism by attending the panel events and sharing your experiences and recommendations on the topics below. The results will be captured in a policy paper to be shared with governments and small businesses to reshape the Eastern Caribbean tourism sector into a more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable industry.
