SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity is a trusted source of support for serving personnel, veterans and their families in their time of need. Founded in 1885, we’re extremely proud of our long-standing heritage and of all the work we do with inspiring people from Hampshire, across the UK and around the world.

The team at SSAFA Hampshire is dedicated to helping veterans, service personnel, and their families, in the local community. Our commitment is to provide support with experienced, non-judgemental and friendly advice, as well as a variety of practical services that cover a range of emotional, practical and financial issues. We are proud to say that we help our Armed Forces family whenever they need us, for as long as they need us. Here at SSAFA Hampshire, we have a variety of different personalities that together make our team so special.
Mike held a commission in the Army, before becoming a Director of The Prince's Trust & a military researcher for the BBC's Who Do You Think You Are? programme. He is a published author. Mike joined SSAFA in 2007, becoming Branch Chairman in 2021.
Clive had a full career in the Army (REME) and then completed 10 years as a civil servant in the Army Headquarters as a civil servant. He was a case worker in Test Valley for nearly ten years before taking the role as Branch Secretary in November 2019.
Ash has been the Branch Publicity Officer at SSAFA Hampshire since 2016 and has also been a Caseworker for Winchester Division since 2015. His role includes publicity, awareness raising, fundraising and social media for the County.

Through volunteering for SSAFA Hampshire, you’ll have the chance to meet some truly inspiring people, with stories you’ll never forget. You’ll also gain new skills and experiences, but most importantly, you’ll make a difference in the lives of those who have dedicated their lives, often at great sacrifice, to protect and serve our country.
You can help people in need by visiting, listening and talking to them, to work out the best ways to support them.
Help us by organising local events, communicating, liaising with key stakeholders and ensuring the smooth running of the branch.
Royal Navy veteran, and SSAFA beneficiary, Ashley Rutland has committed to this year's London Marathon in support of the charity.
Dale Lansley, a SSAFA Hampshire fundraiser and caseworker, was awarded a Sir James Gildea Award for outstanding commitment to the charity.
George Dwight takes on the Andover Half Marathon, which he will be running in full historical kit this weekend to support SSAFA.
