Note: An update of this article is pending. Please note that some terms and/or references may differ from the Movement of Goods Act and the Customs Duty Act that enters into force from the 1st of January 2023.

You may use and store all forms of proofs of origin electronically during customs clearance and for recalculation purposes.

Scanned documents and documents in paper have the same status as originals.

Guidelines for using scanned documents

  • For the customs office to approve scanned documents, the scan must be so clear that there is no doubt about what the document says.
  • The customs office determines whether the quality of the scanned document is sufficient.
  • The documents must be saved in PDF format.
  • The background pattern of the certificate must be visible.
