Numerous studies agree that Spanish speakers need to improve their communicative competence in English, stressing that pronunciation and intonation are two fundamental aspects that require special attention (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). In order to contribute to revert this situation, as well as to facilitate the teaching and learning of these two aspects in digital environments, a team of linguists from the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC) has developed English Pronunciation for Speakers of Spanish. A Practical Course Toolkit (EPSS Toolkit), which incorporates:  1) a dynamic and effective method to study and practise English phonetics and pronunciation online or offline, in an entertaining, but rigorous way; 2) texts, videos, and more than 200 audio-recordings and activities specifically designed for Spanish speakers in order to help them discern and practise English pronunciation, as well as phonetic transcription and the assimilation of related concepts, paying special attention to the most frequent difficulties and errors;  4) a bank of sounds contrasting the sounds of British English with those of Spanish;  5) a selection of complementary resources and materials that expand the contents of EPSS Toolkit; 6) an advanced search tool, which allows you to select activities and resources related to the search terms.
