A100 statistics

The request was partially successful.

Dear King's College London,

As of the May UCAS deadline for Institutions to make their decisions on applications (or end of cycle, if you do not still hold information for this date), can you please confirm how many places there were for your A100 course, how many applicants you had, how many were invited to interview and how many offers were made, please?

I would like this information for 2021 entry, 2020 entry and 2019 entry, please, and split into Home and International fee status, please.

Many thanks for your help,

Yours faithfully,

Judy Macdonald

Dear King's College London,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of King's College London's handling of my FOI request 'A100 statistics'.

My request for imformation about the numbers of places, applicants, interviews and offers has been declined under section 43(2) - Commercial Interests.
I fail to see how releasing these nubers would be likely to prejudice the commercial interests of the university, namely the ability of the university to attract the best students, staff and greatest level of funding during our current admission cycle. Releasing the information would allow other universities to adopt a scheme that allows them to better identify the best candidates through marketing and recruitment?

This information has been released by King's in response to previous FOIs, some of it has been released in response to this request, and has been released by other med schools, under the request terms you have denied.

Could you please explain how public awareness of this information would interfere with your ability to attract students/funding and why you have chosen to release some of the information, and not all of it? This seems perverse and illogical, particularly as this information is already in the Public domain from other medical schools

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/a...

Yours faithfully,

Judy Macdonald
