The wind energy industry has experienced rapid growth in the past decade. As wind energy continues growing in popularity, the construction of new wind farms will inevitably increase. Overall employment in the UK offshore wind industry for full-time in-direct and direct employees currently stands at approximately 26,000. Employment in the onshore wind industry has stayed relatively stable, with 4,400 full-time employees recorded for the same period. Studies predict an accelerated surge in offshore wind industry jobs, with estimates predicting over 69,000 jobs generated by 2026. Over 80% of offshore wind jobs are situated outside London and the southeast.
