Bristol Crisis Service for Women, now known as Self Injury Support, has provided support services for women struggling with self injury for more than 30 years. Started in 1986 as a feminist collective, its goals were to listen to, support, and amplify the voices of women using self injury.
On this website you can listen to the storiesof 22 former staff and volunteers from this unique organisation, as well as read its groundbreaking research and publications. All project materials will be deposited at Bishopsgate Institute in Spring 2022.
