National Research Foundation (NRF) scholarships - deadline 30 June 2023

The NRF invites all full-time postgraduate students not in salaried employment (contractual or permanent) to apply for funding support for 2024. Even if you are not sure whether you are going to be accepted into postgraduate studies for 2024, you may apply.

Free Postgraduate Office skills workshops for SU postgraduates

Formatting  should not happen at the end of your research. Our MS Word for Thesis Formatting online workshop demonstrates how to create style sheets to assist you with the technical layout of your thesis or dissertation - saving you time!

Postgraduate Funding, Harry Crossley Foundation wrap-around support workshops

This series of online sessions is designed to assist SU postgraduates to navigate the financial challenges they may face during their postgraduate journey and beyond.

South African Journal of Science: Writing for a scholarly publication workshop

A free virtual workshop hosted by the South African Journal of Science aimed at postgraduate students and early career researchers who have little or no experience in writing and publishing journal articles.

Crowdhelix, a virtual platform for research innovation and collaboration

Crowdhelix will be hosting a webinar to showcase the platform’s capabilities for researchers at Stellenbosch University. The webinar will focus on how to set up your profile, engage with other users and benefit from the platform’s matchmaking capabilities for participating in European Union funded research projects.

Future17 sustainable development challenge

Join the SDG/2063 Impact Hub as they gear up to host the fourth Future17 sustainable development goals (SDGs) challenge Literacy Programme at Stellenbosch University. You will form part of an international cohort of students from 6 other universities to work together on an industry challenge. 

Convocation extraordinary meeting, Thursday, 1 June 2023 – register by 19:00 today!

The Stellenbosch University Convocation is gathering for an extraordinary meeting on Thursday, 1 June 2023 in person at the Bloemhof Girls’ High School in Stellenbosch and online globally to vote on two motions, but you need to register to attend by 19:00 tonight. If you have not received your personalised email invitation to attend, please send an e-mail to [email protected] to confirm your registration details.

What is the Convocation?

The Convocation is a statutory body or platform created for SU alumni to voice their concerns, to share ideas, and to contribute to the University's direction and management. As a member of the Convocation, you have the opportunity to influence the future of the institution.

Who is part of the Convocation?

It includes all SU graduates who have received a degree from SU and academic staff (current and retired). Note that it's crucial to update your contact details with the Alumni Office to receive important Convocation updates.
