Global Intergenerational Week is an annual, civil society-led campaign that aims to highlight the importance and benefits of intergenerational practice. This year, the Global Campaign to Combat Ageism is supporting the organisations and communities around the world who are leading the campaign and working to advocate for the benefits of intergenerational practice in diverse settings and contexts.
MoreGlobal Intergenerational Week is about raising awareness of the power of intergenerational connections and relationships, and recognising the benefits they can bring to individuals, families, and communities. In a post-pandemic world that is too often characterised by division, loneliness, and social isolation, intergenerational connections can offer a powerful antidote. They bring together people of all ages, backgrounds, and experiences, and create opportunities for learning, sharing and growth, leading to the creation of stronger and more resilient communities.

MoreOn 14 December 2020, The United Nations General Assembly declared 2021-2030 the Decade of Healthy Ageing. Health is central to our experience of older age and the opportunities that ageing brings. Initiatives undertaken as part of the Decade will seek to: change how we think, feel and act towards age and ageing; facilitate the ability of older people to participate in and contribute to their communities and society; deliver integrated care and primary health services that are responsive to the needs of the individual; and provide access to long-term care for older people who need it.
